I posted a "thank you" note in GitHub, acknowledging the work done by the Stellarium deverlopers, in particular, for fixing the Telescope Control plug-in.

Georg Z responded. "Actually the simulator is the only one that I can test. I hope instrumental aborts also work!"

I jumped back in and let him know that it did indeed work with a real mount.
