- from within city limits
- with small (7 power) binoculars
- without magnification, i.e. naked eye
But the very clear skies (down to the horizon) helped. That the comet did not fragment at perihelion was a good thing. In fact, the comet seemed to brighten a little. Having good sight lines helped. So, there was a dash of luck too.
Still, I was glad friends and fellow RASC members were seeing it.
