Manuel and I were chatting. Commiserating about the clouds. He said that he hoped to try for the comet on Thursday night, the weather was looking good then. He also suggested where he might go.
He then asked me where would be a good spot. Geez. I dunno. Reminded me of all the work people undertook last summer for the eclipse and then transit events, trying to find good western sight lines.
It occurred to me that I did not really know of anything. I had never proactively sought out spots, close to home, that had good views to the horizon. Maybe I should hop on the bicycle (in a couple of months) and find some good spots... It'd be good to have a few lined up, ready to go.
