delivered collimation talk

After Ralph and then John, I delivered my binoculars presentation. It seemed to be well-received. The laser demo part was a little surprising; no one came forward. Except Ralph. He was spotting me...

(Where's a 3D projector when you need one...)

It was interesting when we asked for a show of hands, for who had purchased the Celestron 15x70 binoculars. Almost every hand went up! Wow. Well, now they know how to collimate them!

A question at the end I had not considered. What to do to secure the screws after moving them. I said I didn't think that would be a concern. Still, we discussed "light" thread locker or nail polish. I suggested model paint, in the same colour.

Provided my handout, 50 copies. I didn't see any extras at the end of the night.

Chatted with Sara and Nicole briefly afterwards. They had to run.

Chatted with a member who had a very old pair of Bushnells. We could not see any places on the casing where the collimation screws would be located.
