distracted by a comet (Blue Mountains)

Captured the comet. C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS). I was surprised at the detail. I was very happy to see stars.

Tracked. Canon 40D, 13 seconds, ISO 1000, daylight white balance, 2 second self timer. RAW format. Slight adjustments in Ps CS2. North is top-right; east is top-left.

The star close to the nucleus in the tail is HIP 2780A at magnitude 8.5. Bright star to the left of the comet, at mag 7.0, is HIP 2936. The vertical measure is approx. 2°. SkyTools 3 Pro says the field is 2.4 by 1.6°. Magnitude 10 and 11 stars are visible.
