Repaired Darcy's telescope shortly after arriving at Starfest. An 8-year old Meade 10-inch LX 200 that had blown over in a strong windstorm. He wheeled it down in a custom case on a dolly.
Miraculously, the optical tube assembly was fine, corrector intact. The only damage was to the altitude shaft. At high slew speeds it oscillated. It even touched the casing as it flopped about, making an unpleasant sound.
I removed the cover, motor assembly, the first brass transfer gear, and then the adjustment shaft sub-assembly. Straightened (persuaded) the shaft in a vice. Reversed the assembly. Suspension spring was a little tricky but I got it in fine. Darcy was very happy.
