found the Revised NGC/IC list

Heard about "Steinicke's list" so did a bit of searching. Didn't get hits at first, 'cause I didn't know how to spell his surname, but I finally tagged it.

Check out the Revised New General Catalogue and Index Catalogue by Dr. Wolfgang Steinicke, FRAS on his astronomy web site (English link).

This is good. I've been wanting a good source for corrected information. I followed, for a while, the old NGC/IC Project website... sounds like there's some bad blood here.

Not only does it address catalogue errors, the Revised NGC/IC by Steinicke gives the physical and identification data for each object as well.

It is also good to see that the data is used by astronomy software including TheSky, Guide, SkyMapPro, Starry Night, Eye&Telescope, the SAC database, and the database inside the Losmandy mount.
