a lumpy comet

Today I listened to an Actual Astronomy podcast Chris and Shane.

One of the ones I downloaded a while ago, for my train trip to and fro London over the Christmas holiday.

From 13 December 2021, I selected episode # 178 on Electric Jackets, Flashlight Hacks, and Comet Leonard.

Good discussion. I was intrigued by the heated jacket...

As they were winding down, they read a listener email, from Charles. He had viewed comet Leonard in binoculars and his 152 mm refractor back on 3 Dec. Apparently Charles thought it a "lumpy comet."

Ha ha!

Never thought about that before. Some comets do look rather lumpy.
