tried cross-hair method

I tried John McCue's for measuring a double star's separation and position angle with a simple cross-hair eyepiece (reference from Cloudy Nights). Can't do it. I'm certain his article is missing steps. Or there are errors in his formulae. Just doesn't make sense.
