He started, "For what it’s worth I haven’t received mine yet, either." I believe that was an attempt to make me feel better. It did not make me feel better. It told me the problem was wide-spread.
He explained, "We didn’t order enough pins with our first order." Understood. Don't want to have a surplus.
But as soon as they ran out, a quick email should have gone out to the others standing in line. Members regularly complain of being in the dark (no pun intended). A courtesy note would have been assuring. Tell us. We can take it, bad news. We just wanna know.
And then it hit me. Knowing of an order for pins, as the Observing Committee chair, would have been especially helpful. Might have been able to dovetail an order of our own...
Another example of poor communication, operating in crisis mode, myopic perspective, not thinking outwardly, silos. Ugh. An opportunity missed. We could have realised some economies.
Finally, he said "the packages were just sent out." and intimated they should arrived in a few days.
In a few days, I'll be hounding again.
