Hooked up Denis's StellaCam3 to see if I could identify the source of the RF noise that I saw on the last outing. Curiously, I could not recreate the effect.
Connected the rig to my custom 120VAC-to-12VDC adapter with triple CLA female outlet. Nothing. Well, not exactly nothing. Connected my mount drive motor to the same CLA outlet. It went kinda squirrelly when plugging in but then settled down. Not bad. Minor bands moving down rapidly.
Connected the rig to my deep discharge gel battery via custom dual CLA female outlet. Nothing. Again, connected the mount motor. OK. Very good, actually.
Tried moving the Vixen motor and controller near the rig equipment. And I saw no change.
I thought I noticed some high frequency banding that corresponded to the camera's on-board cooling fan. Could it be? Could the fan affect the signal? Is it tied to temperature?
I still don't know why I was getting such a crappy signal the other night...
