Everyone is going nuts about aurora all of a sudden. People are expecting to see aurora inside the city limits. With this crazy humid weather. When Environment Canada is predicting rain storms... Just 'cause of one little CME...
(Don't get me wrong. It happens. But... rarely!)
(Wait 5 years.)

What is CME ? Is that the plasma that is rushing towards earth? Some saying this plasma amount is massive, why are you saying little? Or is it totally different something you are referring to? I'm so confused......
Seeing tonight is poor, but tomorrow should be clear; any chance to see aurora tomorrow?
What am I waiting 5 years for ? For the sun getting more unstable therefor more active ? Sounds like a bad thing, is it ?
Our Sun appears to exhibit a 7 to 11 year cycle. It's a variable star!
As you know, it's been "quiet" for some time. Few, if any sun spots.
It's "waking up" now and will continue to build over the next few years. In 5 years, it will probably be at maximum activity. That will be a lot of fun to look at. Sunspots everywhere, big proms, etc.
But all that activity degrads radio communication, damages the odd satellite, makes it more dangerous for astronauts, etc.
Be careful what you wish for...
So this CME on Tue/Wed, is the first of many. We'll probably get bigger ones. And then we just might be able to see aurora in our light polluted environs...
