viewed planets (River Place Park)

Tony grabbed me. We headed to "telescope hill." Where Malcolm and Drew and Dave were set up.

Briefly viewed Venus and Saturn in Malcolm's big refractor. A "TEC" refractor. The APO140ED I believe. On a AP mount and tripod I think.

The 'scope has a focal length of 980 mm and a focal ratio of 7.0. I thought it curious Malcolm was unclear about the numbers and powers. Tony explained it was because he's a imager. Ha!

The detail on Saturn was very good.

Limited viewing opportunities tonight. Mostly cloudy. But, frankly, I was OK with it. I needed to rest.
