just don't get it

Should not have to do this. Reminding a member what to bring. Asking if they are bringing unannounced guests. Inviting friends over. Hoping to use the shared telescopes for many personal projects. Planning to leave early. Verify if they are even attending or not. Why is it this way? I don't understand.
