After picking up supplies in Mt. Forest, I found the park. Did not get lost! Although, north of town I started to wonder if I had overshot it. Just as I accessed the directions on the iOS device, I spotted the blue sign for the park. OK! On track.
Pulled up to the River Place park office and climbed out of the car. Noted the Starfest table on the porch and was heading in that direction when I heard Elaine's voice and laugh. Turned left into the busy office and said hello to a friendly face.
Elaine welcomed me then directed me to the pre-registration table back out at the porch. And invited me to camp beside her and Tony. Awesome.
Received my "kit." Red plastic bag with program, name tag, power cord tag, Chris Hadfield sticker, etc. Two pens. Nice.
I hung the orange wrist band strap on the car mirror and followed Elaine's directions into the camp. Found Tony "working hard," horizontal in his anti-gravity chair, taking photos of his feet! He was happy to see me.
Asked if I could set up beside him. Hoped I wasn't intruding. He helped me with the big crazy dining tent.
I was very relieved to be near friends as I learned the Starfest ropes.
