While I work on notes and documentation for the telescope and mount generally and TheSky6 software, Ian is interested in documenting how to use the SBIG camera. I helped him out this afternoon in the GBO. Well, I helped him with some computer technical issues...He hooked the camera directly to the laptop in the Warm Room and everything worked well.
When he connected it at the telescope via the USB extension cable and USB hub, all hell broke loose. We futzed and fuddled for a long time trying to get it to work. We both came away from this thinking that USB sucks.
Still, he learned a lot about what's involved. And we moved closer to making this equipment more accessible to our members.
