The LED are housed in a 9 mm clear plastic cylindrical tube, about 10 cm long. They are definitely not deep red and will likely benefit from a tiny strip of red film. I haven’t had a chance to try them out in a dark setting (tonight’s entertainment). I may have to bum a strip of film 3 cm x 10 cm from you one of these days.So I'll have to scrounge up some small Lee Filters
