It was partly cloudy. From the bus stop to home, I followed bright Sirius. The nearly full Moon was headed toward Orion, up and left of an orange star (Aldebaran). In fact, the Moon had taken up one of the corners of the Winter Hexagon. Couldn't see the Pleiades in the bright and wispy sky.
Betelgeuse looked the same brightness as Bellatrix. [ed: Which is mag 1.6 according to Stellarium.]
