The nichrome wire wrapped about the plastic bottle core fit nicely inside the tube. It was protected from damage. No chance of electrical shorts. I was very happy.

tried larger tube
Took an inner tube out of bike tire, from one of my mountain bike slicks. 26x1-3/8". My first impression? The size was perfect!
The nichrome wire wrapped about the plastic bottle core fit nicely inside the tube. It was protected from damage. No chance of electrical shorts. I was very happy.
